COYOTE

I am the Alpha and Omega

Of my own drama

I owe my allegiance

To my heart chakra

Within me are the answers

I am my own Gotama

In the shade of the bodhi tree

I have found Nirvana

My heaven is in my child's eyes

When I look within and see inside

I see them in me, no need to hide

The love I feel, heart full of pride

I will walk this road wherever it goes

I will find this end that only I know

The only end there is for me

Is where I set my children free

In all of my life in search of love

There's only one that rises above

All the scrutiny of other's lies

And that's the love in my child's eyes

There is no greater living truth

Then that reflection in a child's youth

A mirrored version of what once was you

Staring right back up at you

It doesn't matter what I've spent

I will not give up, I will not relent

I will never give in or turn away

I will live for them till my dying day

My adversaries are selfish and cruel

They think they can play me

Like a fool

But I just wait them out -

As my heart blossoms

They may celebrate

But I'm playing opossum

That wily coyote is a great deceiver

But his confidence is always untimely

He sits there fattened by his spoils

While this warrior sneaks up behind him

Coyote never knows when to stop

And He steals things that he should leave alone

But once he get's started he cannot stop

Thinks he's safe and right at home

But Spirit is staring down from on high

Sometimes right outside his door

He thinks spirit is there to bless him

But still he's wanting more

Spirit stares back through Eagle eyes

Sending me dreams and visions

Showing me what coyote can't hide

Despite all his "best" intentions

He thinks this deck is stacked in his favor

So he never cries out to Savior

He thinks armadillo will bridge the gap

But there are no more fruits in his labor

You cannot redeem a blackened heart

Cannot make sense from devices

If the truth isn't already part of you

Will then likely your demise is

So despite the fear, I look to ant and bee

Reminds me of teamwork and harmony

Cannot face this enemy alone

But must use all that has been given me

The strength of tribe and family

The command to love my enemy

The truth which now means everything

And faith in the great mystery

So coyote – great trickster

Enjoy your short lived victory

Spider is there right beside you

Weaving a way for your enemy

So when it comes time for you to fold your hand

You will realize two things

You cannot keep what was never yours

And you can't fold a human being!
