HER
Sometimes I feel this beauty inside
It climbs up and wants to be seen
Wants me to translate something
I can then share with human beings
It's a beauty found in a moment
It's a beauty found in a place
It's a beauty found in a thought
Or a look in a person's face
It's the sight of clasping hands
Or running fingers through hair
It's a hug at another's arrival
Or a stranger in total despair
It's a homeless man on a corner
Or a pastor preparing to preach
It's a woman gone into labor
Or a love that's just out of reach
It's the sizzle in someone's perfection
In an art they've worked so hard for
It's the sound of distant music
Or unexpected knocks at the door
It hides in myriad instance
It rustles through branches and trees
It climbs all the highest mountains
And is obvious once it's been seen
When I look deep down inside me
For that something so awesome and pure
Mine has a face and a body
And one day
I'll spend it
With Her
