Wide awake and slightly shaken at 11:57

I was on my way to sleep, then I was on my way to heaven

Be careful what you wish for – Because it might reach out and grab you

And while a heart looks round and supple

– The other end can stab you.

If you ever want for anything – don't ever say you can't

And if you try for it – I'm warning you – You're gonna' have to dance

It's never easy – like you think it is

(Least not - a cause within romance)

And anything worth having

Is worth taking every chance

Love is like astronomy

Peering out at distant comets

Which change course,

And then suddenly

You're trying not to vomit

All you wanted was to propagate

And then suddenly – it's sonnets

And any other form of poetry

Where your understandings "on it"

But I can tell you -

With your dancing shoes

- If you give in to inner truths

If you gave in to insights

And still support the ones -

Right next to you

If you're honest yet support

The ones who have -

Been there for you

Then maybe

(Yeah – maybe)

There might still be a chance for you

For if you haven't found your other

By the age of 23

Then got married and had children

And raised them both to 17

Then you are on the other side of love

And you are standing here with me

And that's why I'm warning you

And telling you

Do not simply

Let love be
