LIVING WORD
Eloquent surrender
Ill wills surround
Like steam punk headlights
Emblazoned in gold
Tawdry fascinations
Abound
Like derelict timelines
Sold
By the tempted auctioneer
He swears he sells better
But he's just a puppeteer
Mother slams hard
Into third gear
Trying to slow down
Puts strain on the train
Momentum has come
Cannot be stopped
By new intentions
Or birthing pangs
Mary prays from the stoop
Stone rolled back
Caught by the smell
Of oils and myrrh
Shroud lies discarded
Can't interact
He stands at the well
With that heathen girl
Beleaguered clown
Perched like Judas
Stares down
From sad rope swinging
He delights in the supper
Thinks to bide his time
Yet sack of gold
Weighs down his line
Magdelene
Rifles through his papers
Scrolls
Like rolled cigars
Can't make sense of the dialect
But it speaks of Gods
Becoming
And stars
The night light
Hangs over the sea
Bright white wholeness
Waxes and wanes
Prophet strumming
Channels melodies
The tides come in
Then wince away
Calendars collapsing
Bound to Chains
Of 28 days
Needing no lunar landing
Astronauts
Fall from the sky
Like angels
Back to their demanding
The guileless one approaches
Singing songs of yore
Doesn't know
What he's fighting for
Wings silky and smooth
Enclose him
He approaches his path
Swings open the door
Those tired gates of heaven
Creek and squeal open
Been closed for so long
Peter covers his ears
As the Seraphim
Raise their voice in song
Archangels
Sound trumpets and
The bright one
Curses
The horsemen
Ride among us
Pretending elections
Breaking protests
And inciting riots
The trials are personal
To each his own hell
But the adversary
Has come into focus
And in the light of admonition
They will turn tail
Speak open
Sound clear
Eyes alight
In truth - once heard
Swing moments
Away from fear
Eyes brighten
In the Living Word
