MY WAY

Blood Moon

Wakes up an April sky

Like my little toy Dragon

To commemorate this night

Like the moon has turned to Mars

Watch as red tunes down to brown

It's a serendipitous event

(Kismet - turned right! To upside down!)

I didn't see it coming

I'm so detached - I didn't know

Just walked out to see the evening

And to have another smoke

But when I looked up

-Simply dumbfounded-

Like I knew this came before

- The moon and all its luster

Turned within to something more

Oh sudden inspiration

You are the glory of my days!

A century ago

I'd be met with pride

And praise

But now I'm caught in generations

Glorified by MTV

Fast food freaks

And instant life

That you can buy

On your TV

But in my home I sit and wonder

At the sound within my house

It was this tickling sound

- Like scratching

Which turned out to be a mouse

Surely he or she must know this

This blood Moon that stands outside

I hear the dogs

And the coyotes

Sing their song into the night

So I'll keep my new toy Dragon

As my reminder of today

And that hour in the parking lot

When it felt like

I'd found

My way.
