NOTHING MORE

"Will travel for love"

- I'd go anywhere to find it

I'd search both high and low

'Til I was standing there beside it

I'm glad to be proactive

To take each perfect step

If in the end two hearts combined

Is the fruit my labors get

I want that in a way

Perhaps I've not before

When we are young

- We take for granted

The things we'll wish for evermore

I truly want that perfect partner

But would ne'er expect a perfect person

I might put her on a pedestal

But perfection's an illusion

I just want heartfelt understanding

And love in a new way

Where you could want not for another

And no one begs to stay

I thought once - I could find her

Encouraged by my dreams

Hit the road with signs and wonders

And a vision of her being

Blonde hair and sweet blue eyes

Intellect that matches passion

She – both T-shirt and jeans

And all the latest fashions

So I headed where I knew to go

Searched Prescott and Jerome

Spent half the day in Cottonwood

For a place I'd call a home

But then destiny or fate

Called me down to Tucson

Propped me up but made me wait

For a sense that I could act on

Now life is all but perfect

With the exception of her face

Her demure and perfect presence

And the essence of her grace

But I feel her 'round the corner

As I felt her once before

She'll have me wanting

Not for nothing

She'll have me wanting nothing more
