PILLS
Some people must escape
When they have a hole to fill
When the pain becomes so draining
They've all but lost their will
When they count all of their seconds
And they've only time to steal
They fill the schism in their life
With a wide array of little pills
They take one to take away the pain
Then one more cause they feel ill
Then one to give them energy
Then one more so not to feel
Then one to wind away the day
One so they
Don't grind their teeth
But not one pill helps them
To recover
What they've buried underneath
The purple one's a good one
For when you've had a lousy day
The one with little stripes
Can make the world just fade away
The yellow ones are special
But should only be taken
At night
The big ones are delightful
But split in half
They are "just right"
There's other ones for thinking
And ones that help make dinner
Ones that make you
Quite euphoric
When you're feeling
Like a sinner
Ones that make you
Forget your mother
Or your ex
Like you're a winner
Ones that stave away
Your hunger
When you're trying
To be thinner
People shouldn't take them
They're man-made
And full of poison
They shouldn't be
The only way
You escape your real emotions
All they do is subdue beauty
And turn you brain into
An Ocean
Where you go and sail away
Once the potion's
Put in motion
Love and Happiness
Overcome them
Once the consumption's
Down to nill
But good things
Can never come
Until you kill those
Little pills
