SINFUL HANDS
Sorry if every day
My rhymes keep bothering
But that's because of all the time
That they've been bottling
Wrote them every day
Until the age of 17
But then they were suddenly
Replaced
By unending constant dreams
Dreams of these people
Who mean everything to me
Dreams of a coming world
I know's about to be
Dreams of an exodus
To the safety of the trees
Dreams of the train tracks
That pass by underneath
Walking for miles and miles
For we cannot take the road
So we walk from track to track
Finding maps there as we go
Bad guys and good guys
Like some Hollywood movie
One of them I dreamt of
Is already dead to me
I only tried to find him
To prevent that likely future
And now I would deny him
Any mercy when I get there
You cannot escape destiny
You can't escape your path
I will follow every track
'Til the tracks have turned to grass
Then the path comes
Covered in brambles
Wild berries cling to
- Sharpened vines
Till we find the waterway
And then some will stay behind
They'll say that this is far enough
And as far as we should go
But I'll beg them
Then I'll leave them there
Because I'm the one who knows
Where we're going
The Dreams showed me
These people like myself
Who only came
Cause they were asked to
Who only came
Cause they could help
Who only came
Cause they would want to
They've been cast out there diversely
In many times and many places
Each beset to their own journey
Each prepared to have to face this
Whatever may be coming
Be it Burden or Oasis
Each one has honed
Their gift or skill
And has determined
What their pace is
Maybe we all came
Just to live in harmony
But if you turn on your TV
It doesn't seem
That way to me
It seems like all
Have given up
Except for those
Who've had enough
It seems that some
Prepare for it
While the rest just
Eat it up
So many lost to this deception
Like they've all but lost their voice
Speak of Obama and of Romney
As if either were a choice
They pray to Santa Jesus
Outrage for football games
Blind to their mass rejection
As if they've all but lost their brains
If it came to mass distraction
I'm inclined to beat the odds
I'm prepared for all obstructions
Even unto alien gods
I know which ones have mercy
I know which ones to kill
I know which ones are horny
And succumb to woman's will
I could rant a giant diatribe
But for tribe I'll keep it short
There's too much at stake
For all of us
So please spare me your retort
If you can't see what's happening
I won't drag you through the dregs
But you should kiss your ass goodbye
And put your head between your legs
Honestly if Jesus came
That would be okay with me
But unfortunately doomsday
Is an unlikely probability
Neither Armageddon nor Satan
Nor angels from the sky
But our masters
Those who made us
Play a game which they can't hide
Imagine if that God you pray to
Came from another place like Earth
Never sent a son to save you
But surely owned you since your birth
Every question ever answered
Every story that you've heard
All revolved around their foreign land
Yet you submitted to their word
Then some came along
Into this life -
Men with eyes to see
Like The Buddha
- Or Jesus Christ
Spreading their epiphanies
Speaking of a better way
Speaking of eternal freedoms
And a path that we must pave
If its one we want
To be in
Their's the realm of the true father
But everyone was worshiping
So they never thought to bother
To listen to a single thing
(And all they had to offer)
To listen to their insights
To hear the words they'd speak
To inherit a world much better
For the humbled and the meek
To learn that God is living
In his children here on earth
They could've filled us with their wisdom
And the value of their worth
But instead we don't stand by them
Turned them to legend
And religion
As a wise man once said
"If you see the Buddha –
Kill him!"
That's because the value
Is in the teaching
It is never in the man
Man's besmirched by endless dogma
And proclaims with
Sinful hands
