DUE TIME

Sitting here rhyming

I'm rhyming all the time

Got to rhyme

To try to soothe my mind

Doesn't matter if I know the reasons why

All these things keep happenin' in my life

One way or another I'm never gonna die

Just live on, in this spiral throughout time

Buried in complexities I could never satisfy

Tell the truth because I don't have time to lie

Cried my tears now my tears are running dry

Feel the birds as they soar throughout the sky

Don't get caught up - they ain't ever asking why

Why they're here - they just spread their wings and fly

Singing praises to the only God on high

He reaches down, lets me know that I'm alive

Gives me hope – that others have to buy

Don't need to smoke – Cuz I'm already high

Gives me freely what I can't have otherwise

Helps me cope with these people in my life

Try to destroy me and I don't know even why

They cast aspersions like demons in the night

But their madness - is something I deny

I was losing when I only tried to fight

Gave it to God now he is on my side

Now I'm protected like a warrior of Christ

Prayed to the Buddha and he told me not to try

Simply see - nirvana is your life

Find your counsel and try to find your tribe

Look to nature - she gives the best advice

There is no reason to ever run or hide

Just lay back and enjoy the cosmic ride

Those that hurt you are just hurting inside

Be an example in the ways that you get by

Let them see - that worry is a crime

Don't respond to the ways that they deride

Let them feel the responses you derive

Seeking answers from the source and the light

Don't seek truth from the pie-in-the-sky

It's not your cause to sit 'round - and wonder why

But to ponder - and then to realize

The only God is the God we live inside

Sympathize – this planet is your bride

Build your hopes on accomplishments and drive

Stand tall and know the answers are obliged

To give themselves up

Give 'em up

In their due time
