Whatever happened to before?

Whatever happened to the past?

We once believed in something truly

We once believed that things could last

But that's not at all what happened

Our guiding light just sailed away

Now we survive within the stupor

Now we strive to beat each day

Despite the fact that times are changing

Despite the fact it's all a ruse

Wouldn't it be quite amazing

If even once that love were true?
