A CHOICE

I'm somewhat keen on observation

It's more than just a minor skill

Which has served me all my life

And has helped me get my fill

I don't get locked in hesitation

I simply wander toward the way

Of the place my eyes might take me

Sight intertwined within my brain

I keep looking, I keep finding

Despite inclined to find recluse

I search endlessly for reasons

To contrive one more excuse

To go up to that front office

Another package comes today

Yay at once for "Merry Christmas"

Another package come to say

What I've seen I'm all but certain

Even though times have been rough

Despite the softness of your person

All I see is that you're tough

Hardened angel like a siren

Simple truths within your voice

My eyes recording every second

As if I even had a choice
