QUIET STARES
Alabaster day cream
Wipe on to give new life
The miracle's the daydream
No need to fantasize
It comes by pounds
But never ounces
Does not dispense from in a tube
You cannot find it in a market
But it's present on YouTube
It hides in lines of Facebook
Between Memes and George Takei
It may sometimes be UpWorthy
But it never has to lie
It gets delivered by a Doula
But never once from Amazon
Unless it's in a book you covet
And must often pass along
You might find it in the trumpet
Of Max Ribner on a stage
You might find it some in RapCore
But never once defined "new age"
It's not tangible like "money"
(That's an ironic thing to say)
But it's tangible like honey
In an apiary way
It travels like a virus
But never once will make you sick
It melts like chocolate ice cream
But never once will take a lick
It's solid though transforming
Like water in the air
It comes from times long gone
Yet sticks around in quiet stares
