BRINGS THE GREEN

Betrothed to one another

And to the thought of holding hands

Much more than subtle lovers

For my dream I take this stand

Spent so much time embarrassed

At the likelihood of you

As if I should apologize

For a heart that knows the truth

For my soul floats,

Cuz I'm swimming

In the likelihood of we

Knowing this serenity

And that we will always be

When I doubt you

My foundation

I deny my everything

In this desert of starvation

My elation lost to me

So I must choose you

And never waver

Even lost in lonely seas

Floating in an ocean

Of unkept inequity

In the distance I hear laughter

Of the gulls who cannot sing

They simply circle without tether

Always taken to the wing

But I'm your rock

For slumber

And I'm your thoughts

And pleas

I'm your cause for storm

And thunder

I'm the rain

Which brings the green
