WHAT I CAN

Everything danglin'

Just hanging around

Obscurities waning

Toward this king and his crown

Feel the balance is comin'

Though she still hides away

Keeps her feelings in check

But can't keep them at bay

I've been a patient man

But what can I say?

Been looking too long

To just look away

Tireless emptiness

Filled up my cup

Been hoping too long

To just want "enough"

So here comes the flowers

And my cup full of charm

So don't be put off

And don't be alarmed

Anything worth doing

Is worth doing right

I owe it to heart

And to sleeping at night

Won't mind when she's angry

Won't care when she's rude

I'll pick up the slack –

When she's tired

Or just "in a mood"

Anything less

Than tireless effort

Would make me at best

Just like the rest of 'em

But that's my not my style

No that's not who I am

Can't do things half-assed

Gotta' do what I can
